I hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend!  Although this week is short, we have many exciting things planned.  First of all the homework is listed below:

Word Study - sentences due on Thursday
                       quiz on Friday

Math -  multiplication packet due April 11
x3 quiz on Friday (start studying x4 too)

Read - 25 minutes at night as always
*****don't forget to log-on to Dreambox and practice some math (the link is on the right side of this blog)

Scholastic Book orders are due April 5th.
Library will be on Friday this week.

This week we are starting a new unit on Mysteries. Students will participate in book clubs and read and discuss books within the same series. In writing, we are continuing to study and write poetry.  Students are learning about multiplication now. In addition to understanding multiplication concepts such as "groups of," "repeated addition," and "turn around facts," students are being encouraged to study their math facts.  Last week's x-2 mad minute was a huge success for most!  In social studies, students are enjoying learning about Africa and they are preparing to perform their folktales to younger students.  This week we will also see Gabby's pictures from her safari trip.  Lastly, on Friday we will attend a Music for Youth programme.
